Proposal for Miss Grand International 2017 at Paradise Cave

The Miss Grand International 2017 contest is scheduled to take place in October this year, at 3 locations: Quang Binh, Kien Giang and Ho Chi Minh City.

The leader of the Quang Binh Province Department of Tourism said that the Provincial People's Committee has approved the organization of the Miss Grand International contest in the locality and assigned the Department of Tourism to coordinate with relevant agencies to assess the specific plan.

The Miss Grand International 2017 pageant is scheduled to take place in October this year, in three locations: Quang Binh, Kien Giang and Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of contestants from more than 80 countries and territories. In Quang Binh alone, the main activity is the Traditional Costumes competition.

Recently, the Organizing Committee of the Miss Grand International 2017 contest worked with Quang Binh province and proposed that Thien Duong Cave, a World Natural Heritage Site of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, be one of the contest's venues. This is one of the natural caves with a beautiful stalactite system. Thien Duong Cave is 31.4km long and 60m high; it is worth mentioning that Thien Duong Cave is 30m to 100m wide, up to 150m in some places, and can accommodate thousands of people at the same time.

According to Mr. Do Dong Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Quang Binh province, the Miss Grand International 2017 contest is a good opportunity for Quang Binh province to introduce and promote the image of local tourism as well as Vietnam. However, in response to concerns about the impact on the environment and landscape if the national costume contest is held here, Mr. Do Dong Ha said that factors such as security, safety, conservation, and protection of the heritage landscape are the top concerns.

"The new organizing committee plans to propose two options, one to be held on the beach and one to be held in Thien Duong cave. We are considering it. When holding the event in a cave, the organizing committee will also have specific options, including security, safety, and conservation issues. All factors must be taken into account to organize it completely. Holding the event in a cave is also a unique way to introduce the beauty of the cave," said Mr. Do Dong Ha./.
