Proposal to hold the Miss Grand World 2017 pageant at Thien Duong Cave.

The Miss Grand World 2017 competition is scheduled to take place in October this year, in three locations: Quang Binh, Kien Giang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the head of the Quang Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the organization of the Miss Grand International pageant in the province and has assigned the Department of Tourism to coordinate with relevant agencies to assess the specific plan.

The Miss Grand World 2017 competition is scheduled to take place in October this year in three locations: Quang Binh, Kien Giang, and Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of contestants from over 80 countries and territories. In Quang Binh, the main event will be the Traditional Ethnic Costume competition.

Recently, the organizers of the Miss Grand World 2017 competition, in collaboration with Quang Binh province, proposed that Thien Duong Cave, part of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park World Heritage Site, be one of the venues for the competition. This is a natural cave with a stunning system of stalactites and stalagmites. Thien Duong Cave is 31.4 km long and 60 m high; notably, its width ranges from 30 m to 100 m, and in some places up to 150 m, capable of accommodating thousands of people at once.

According to Mr. Do Dong Ha, Deputy Director of the Quang Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, the Miss Grand International 2017 competition is a good opportunity for Quang Binh province to introduce and promote the image of local tourism as well as Vietnam. However, regarding concerns about the impact on the environment and landscape if the competition includes a national costume presentation, Mr. Do Dong Ha stated that factors such as security, safety, preservation, and protection of the environment and heritage landscape are top priorities.

"The organizing committee is currently considering two options: holding the event on the beach or inside Thien Duong Cave. We are reviewing them. If we choose to hold it inside the cave, the organizing committee will also have specific plans, addressing security, safety, and conservation issues. All factors must be taken into account to ensure the event is complete. Holding it inside the cave is also a unique way to showcase the beauty of the cave," said Mr. Do Dong Ha.
