Head of Brazilian Swimming Federation arrested

Coaracy Nunes was arrested in connection with a $12.8 million money laundering and corruption investigation.

On April 6 (Brazil time), Brazilian prosecutors said that the country's police arrested the president of the Brazilian Swimming Confederation (CBDA), Coaracy Nunes, to serve the investigation of corruption and money laundering up to 12.8 million USD.

Mr. Nunes (78 years old), in charge of CBDA since 1988, is one of four senior figures of this agency arrested after the Brazilian government launched an anti-corruption campaign targeting CBDA since 2015.
