The head of the Brazilian Swimming Federation has been arrested.
Mr. Coaracy Nunes was arrested in connection with an investigation into corruption and money laundering totaling $12.8 million.

On April 6th (Brazilian time), Brazilian prosecutors announced that police had arrested Coaracy Nunes, president of the Brazilian Swimming Federation (CBDA), as part of an investigation into corruption and money laundering totaling $12.8 million.
Mr. Nunes (78 years old), who has been in charge of the CBDA since 1988, is one of four high-ranking officials from the agency who were arrested after the Brazilian government launched an anti-corruption campaign targeting the CBDA in 2015.
