Prime Minister awards certificate of merit to employee who returned 1 billion VND

Having found a large sum of money, even though no one saw it and it was raining, Ms. Anh still decided to pull over to wait for the person who lost it to come and find it.

On May 10, Da Nang Electricity announced that Ms. Tran Thi Anh - a female employee of Son Tra District Electricity Company (Da Nang City) had just received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc issued Decision No. 601/QD-TTg on May 4, awarding a certificate of merit to Ms. Anh for her good deed of returning 1 billion VND to the person who lost it.

Previously, on February 24, 2017, on her way home from work, Ms. Anh picked up a nylon bag containing a lot of cash and a box of dried apricots. Although she saw no one on the road and it was raining, Ms. Anh still decided to pull over to the side of the road to wait for the owner to come and find her.

Not long after, the person who lost the money, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thu (from Hanoi), received back the full amount of 1 billion VND she lost.

It is known that immediately after the incident was reported, the leaders of the Central Power Corporation also organized a reward and commendation for the act of "picking up lost property and returning it to its owner" of Ms. Tran Thi Anh.
