Nguyen Van Hoa, who has been charged and detained, has confessed to working for foreign organizations, opposing the Party and the State, and inciting gatherings in Ha Tinh.

During his temporary detention by the Ha Tinh police for investigation purposes, Nguyen Van Hoa (born in 1995, residing in Ky Khang commune, Ky Anh district) confessed to receiving money from organizations and individuals both domestically and internationally to gather information and write articles against the Vietnamese state.

After bowing his head and pleading guilty to his wrongdoings, Hoa hoped that the mass media would allow him to offer his deepest apologies to the entire Vietnamese people, as well as to the Party, State, Government, and authorities at all levels, for his actions that violated the state's authority.

"I beg all citizens and authorities at all levels to forgive the defendant, so that the defendant can have a chance to return and rebuild their life. Because the defendant is very young and was exploited and lured into it, the defendant does not wish to continue pursuing it."

"The defendant wants to call on everyone, from young people to the elderly, from farmers to intellectuals, ordinary citizens as well as Catholics, not to be swayed by money or short-term gains, as the defendant himself experienced, by violating and selling out their conscience and the Fatherland to reactionary and extremist organizations and individuals inside and outside the country who oppose the state. Do not follow in the defendant's footsteps," said Nguyen Van Hoa.

Previously, as reported, on April 6th, the leaders of the Security Investigation Agency of the Ha Tinh Provincial Police announced that the unit had issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict the suspect, and detain Nguyen Van Hoa for 3 months on the charge of "Abusing the right to freedom and democracy to infringe upon the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and citizens" under Article 258 of the Penal Code.
