(Baonghean.vn) - Mantis shrimp, stone crab, mussels... are seafood that are attracting tourists when coming to Quynh Luu beach. During holidays, seafood even sells out because of the high demand of people.

This year’s tourist season has seen a sharp increase in the number of visitors to the beaches in Quynh Luu district compared to previous years. Many motels and hotels are fully booked; beachside restaurants are serving tourists at full capacity.

Ms. Ho Thi Hien - owner of Hai Hien restaurant, Quynh Nghia commune said, this year the number of customers coming to swim in the sea and enjoy seafood is very large, even on holidays and weekdays. In addition to 2 chefs and 3 helpers, we have to mobilize 3 more workers to meet the work. On weekends, the restaurant processes about 200 kg of mantis shrimp, crab, stone crab, herring, clams... for customers to use.

Quynh seafood is fresh and delicious because it is exploited and caught in the open sea; fleets from 20 CV to under 90 CV often go fishing during the day, then the seafood is purchased by restaurants and aquaculture facilities to supply to the market. Due to the characteristics of seafood species such as crabs, mantis shrimp, sardines, clams, and mussels living in the open sea, only nearshore fleets can "hunt" them.

With 4 tanks for keeping seafood, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang, owner of Phuong Hang restaurant, regularly buys seafood from fishing boats near the shore to preserve in the tank. Currently, it is the tourist season, so every day her establishment buys about 20 kg of mantis shrimp (depending on the quantity), 7-10 kg of snails; dozens of kg of sea scallops, clams... to put in the aeration tank for preservation.

This year, the number of tourists coming to swim and eat has increased dramatically, so Ms. Hang's facility is always proactive in stocking seafood in tanks.
