Nghe An mobilizes over 4,200 people to serve during the National High School Graduation Examination.

(Baonghean.vn) - To ensure the exam takes place safely and seriously, Nghe An province has mobilized 4,200 people to serve the exam, including approximately 2,600 invigilators. The Ministry of Education and Training has also sent more than 1,300 officials and lecturers from 7 universities and colleges to supervise the exam.

On the afternoon of May 11th, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Nghia – Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the 2017 National High School Examination and University Entrance Examination, along with members of the Ministry of Education and Training's working group, held a meeting with the provincial examination steering committees regarding preparations for the 2017 National High School Examination. Also present at the meeting was Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The 2017 National High School Graduation Examination marked the third year the Ministry of Education and Training implemented the "2-in-1" exam format. However, unlike the previous two years, this year each province had its own examination cluster, chaired by the Department of Education and Training. Universities and colleges played a coordinating role in the organization. In Nghe An, with its large geographical area and the fourth-highest number of candidates nationwide, the implementation presented considerable challenges.

On the other hand, for the first time, the Ministry of Education and Training is organizing the combined science, social science, and mathematics exams in a multiple-choice format, which will make it difficult to direct and guide high schools in organizing teaching and review sessions to prepare for the National High School Graduation Examination.

The implementation process involves many complex tasks related to exam procedures, disseminating exam regulations, handling situations during the exam, organizing the printing and distribution of exam papers, etc.

It is expected that in the upcoming exam, Nghe An province will mobilize 4,200 people to serve the exam, including about 2,600 invigilators. The Ministry of Education and Training will also send more than 1,300 officials and lecturers from 7 universities and colleges to supervise the exam.

During the meeting, representatives from the steering committee also offered many suggestions regarding exam preparation, particularly concerning the mobilization of invigilators from universities and colleges, as the current number of staff and teachers in these institutions is insufficient according to regulations..In addition, discussions will be held on training options regarding exam regulations for invigilators, the development of security plans, and solutions to facilitate the examination process for both candidates and invigilators.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Nghia highly appreciated the preparations of the Provincial Examination Steering Committee and coordinating units. However, due to the importance of the National High School Graduation Examination, she requested that units not be complacent and that each department and agency should issue its own directive to ensure thorough and coordinated preparation.

During the implementation process, attention should be paid to candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds, and social mobilization should be encouraged in providing support and assistance to these candidates.

The printing and copying process requires careful attention and the selection of trustworthy individuals. Furthermore, contingency plans should be developed, particularly for the safekeeping of exam papers. The comrade also suggested that universities and colleges should proactively coordinate their efforts, strictly adhere to regulations, and avoid situations where each institution acts independently.

Regarding the number of invigilators, if there are not enough staff or lecturers, the Ministry allows schools to assign additional personnel, such as postgraduate students or final-year undergraduates, who must provide their own training. During the examination process, invigilators must be thoroughly instructed to strictly adhere to regulations, without showing favoritism or negligence in performing their duties, in order to ensure the absolute safety and fairness of the examination.

In the coming period, the Ministry will provide complete training materials to localities and soon release a set of sample exam questions to help candidates and schools in the preparation process.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong said: Currently, in addition to the provincial-level examination steering committee, localities have also proactively established their own steering committees to enhance the responsibility of localities and relevant departments and agencies. During the examination days, the province requires localities and units not to hold meetings in order to focus on ensuring the examination proceeds smoothly.

Furthermore, the Provincial Youth Union and other mass organizations are tasked with paying attention to exam preparation, especially to candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds. On the part of Nghe An province, with many years of experience coordinating the organization of the national high school graduation exam, Nghe An is confident in its ability to successfully conduct the exam. The province also affirms that it will not be complacent, will implement thorough procedures, and ensure that every member and every sector understands and adheres to the regulations to ensure the exam is conducted seriously and in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Education and Training.
