(Baonghean.vn) - Based on a simulated scenario where the power supply to Tuong Duong district was interrupted due to a major storm, on March 2nd, Nghe An Power Company, in coordination with Tuong Duong Power Company, organized a disaster prevention and search and rescue drill for 2017.

Due to the impact of a severe storm, the Tuong Duong district experienced thunderstorms and heavy rain, causing landslides and trees to fall onto power lines, damaging insulators and severing overhead lines. A particularly serious incident occurred between poles 10 and 16 on the main line 373 E15.14, causing a disruption in power supply to Tuong Duong district.

Upon receiving notification from the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, Nghe An Power Company and Tuong Duong Power Company immediately implemented specific plans and tasks such as replacing broken insulators, addressing contact issues, adding cable clamps to the overhead lines, and coordinating with reinforcement forces from Con Cuong Power Company and Ky Son Power Company to quickly resolve the incident.

This is an annual activity of Nghe An Power Company aimed at preparing for better coordination between units in disaster prevention and control, ensuring safe, continuous, and stable power supply during the 2017 rainy and stormy season; at the same time, equipping employees with skills to handle incidents during storms and floods, as well as inspecting and re-evaluating equipment serving disaster prevention and control and search and rescue operations.
