Russia: More than six months of preparation for the military parade.

(Baonghean.vn) - Almost all the pilots participating in the aerial parade on the 72nd anniversary of the Great Patriotic War had fought in Syria and been awarded the highest honors by the government - Colonel Viktor Bondarev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Federation Air Force, said on the "Russia 24" television channel.

The annual Victory Day parade in Red Square, commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany, is an opportunity for Russia to showcase its military might.

"This year marks the first time that most of the pilots performing aerial displays over Red Square are veterans who fought in Syria. They deserve high honors for their loyalty to their country and for fulfilling their duty on the battlefield," said the Air Force Commander-in-Chief.

Colonel Bondarev also stated that the May 9th parade was meticulously and spectacularly prepared. Russia will showcase its most powerful military weapons to its people and the world.

To participate in this parade, the Federal Air Force Command prepared for six months in advance. They meticulously planned and thoroughly analyzed the techniques and flight procedures to ensure the safe performance of aircraft and helicopters over Red Square.

"About three months ago, we conducted test flights with the flight crews. Afterward, we thoroughly verified the results and reported them to the Minister and the Government for approval," the Commander-in-Chief stated.

The first aerobatic team to perform will be the "Russian Knights," showcasing the Su-30SM fighter jet. Simultaneously, on the ground, there will be a display of the S-400 missile defense system that Russia has deployed in Syria to protect its air bases in the Middle Eastern country.

Notably, the Pantsir-SA air defense missile system made its first appearance at the parade. This system is equipped with a dual-band active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar developed by the SKB Design Bureau. With this radar, the Pantsir-SA's surveillance range increases to 75 km, and the missile's firing range reaches 40 km.
