Training on protecting maritime sovereignty for fishermen.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 10th, 330 fishermen from Dien Chau district received training from the Steering Committee for the East Sea and Islands of Nghe An province to enhance their knowledge of laws on protecting maritime sovereignty and fisheries exploitation at the People's Committee of Dien Ngoc commune.

During the one-day session, fishing vessel owners received training on six main topics: Information on the situation in the East Sea; Information on the communication system of the Vietnam Coastal Information Station, how to call and receive emergency information and maritime safety information; Security work in the maritime border area; Regulations on residence and activities in the maritime border area; Prevention of explosive use and illegal fishing, how to handle some risky situations at sea; Management of fishing vessel registration and inspection, policies supporting fishermen…

Along with Dien Chau district, the Steering Committee for the East Sea and Islands of Nghe An province will continue to train fishermen in Quynh Luu district and Hoang Mai town, aiming to improve their knowledge and safe fishing methods, and strengthen their responsibility in participating in protecting the sovereignty of the country's seas and islands.
