Training on protecting sea and island sovereignty for fishermen
(Baonghean.vn) - 330 fishermen from Dien Chau district were trained by the Steering Committee for the East Sea and Islands of Nghe An province to improve their legal knowledge on protecting sea and island sovereignty and exploiting aquatic products on the morning of May 10 at the People's Committee of Dien Ngoc commune.

During the session, fishing boat owners received 6 main topics: Information on the situation in the East Sea; Providing the communication system of the Vietnam Coastal Information Station, how to call and listen to emergency maritime safety information; Ensuring security in the maritime border area; Documents regulating residence and activities in the maritime border area; Preventing the use of explosives, illegal fishing, how to handle some risky situations at sea; Management of fishing boat registration and inspection, policies to support fishermen, etc.
Together with Dien Chau district, this time, the Steering Committee for the East Sea - Islands of Nghe An province will continue to train fishermen in Quynh Luu district and Hoang Mai town, aiming to improve knowledge as well as safe fishing methods for fishermen, and enhance their responsibility to participate in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
