On the afternoon of March 13, Colonel Duong Tan Bo, Head of the Security Investigation Department of the Quang Nam Provincial Police, confirmed to a reporter from CAND (People's Police Newspaper) that the unit had just identified an individual who impersonated an inspector from the Quang Nam Provincial Department of Internal Affairs to defraud and misappropriate property.
According to initial investigation results, on February 25th, the Security Investigation Agency of the Quang Nam Provincial Police received a complaint from Ms. Le Thi Khanh H. (25 years old, residing in Dien An ward, Dien Ban town) regarding an acquaintance she had made 10 days prior to her meeting with a person who introduced himself as Le Tai, Deputy Chief Inspector of the Department of Internal Affairs of Quang Nam province.
Tai promised to help Ms. H. pass the civil service exam for the education sector organized by the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee and demanded that Ms. H. and her family give him money to "bribe" officials, totaling over 61 million VND.

To gain her trust, Tài gave Ms. H. many related documents, including the exam answers. However, after the exam, Ms. H. realized she had been scammed when she saw that the exam questions did not match the answers Tài had given her, and she reported the incident to the Security Investigation Agency.
Upon receiving the victim's report, the Security Investigation Agency of the Quang Nam Provincial Police quickly launched an investigation using professional methods and identified another case of fraud similar to Ms. H.
That was Mr. Pham Duy T. (26 years old, residing in Dai Thang commune, Dai Loc district), who was also promised a civil servant position by an individual named Tai, along with Ms. H., for 5 million VND.
Through verification, the Security Investigation Agency determined that the suspect named Le Tai's real name is Le Tan Tho (30 years old, residing in Duy Hoa commune, Duy Xuyen district) and issued an urgent arrest warrant for him to investigate the act of fraud and appropriation of property.
