The Lang Vac Festival officially opens on the anniversary of Hung Vuong's death.

(Baonghean.vn) - This year, the Lang Vac festival is being held by Thai Hoa town on the occasion of the Hung Vuong Ancestor Commemoration Day.It took place from April 5-7, 2017, which corresponds to the 9th-11th day of the 3rd lunar month.

On the morning of April 5th, as part of the festival program, participating units gathered to set up camps. In the afternoon of the same day, many activities and folk games, as well as sports competitions, took place, such as: throwing the "con" (a traditional game), chess, swinging, sack racing, stick pushing, men's and women's volleyball…

Most notably, the ceremonial offering took place at the Lang Vac shrine. In the sacred atmosphere of the land and sky, the elderly members of the ceremonial team performed the rituals according to the customs of ancient Vietnamese people.

Tomorrow (April 6th), the Lang Vac Festival will officially open with the procession of the Vac cauldron and many other meaningful activities: gong and drum competitions, singing contests, beauty pageants, etc. In addition, visitors to this year's festival will also have the opportunity to admire and enjoy the characteristic products of the Phu Quy region.

Organizing the Lang Vac festival on the anniversary of Hung Vuong's death demonstrates the gratitude of the officials and people of Thai Hoa towards the spirits of their ancestors - those who contributed to the founding of the village and the creation of life for today's generation.
