The incident occurred at 6 PM on May 13th near the Phu My District Health Center in Binh Dinh province. While transporting a patient to a higher-level hospital in Quy Nhon city, Vo Truong Nhu Vuong, 35, an employee of the Phu My District Health Center, was intercepted by Huynh Phat Tai, who stabbed him multiple times with a knife.
Seeing Mr. Vuong being stabbed, Mr. Bui Ngoc Binh, also residing in Phu My district, intervened but was also assaulted and injured by Tai. Both victims are currently receiving emergency treatment at Binh Dinh Provincial General Hospital.
Reportedly, the incident stemmed from a dispute over transporting emergency patients to higher-level hospitals. Mr. Vo Truong Nhu Vuong is an employee of the Phu My District Health Center and owns a vehicle used for this service. Huynh Phat Tai is the son of Mr. Huynh Kim Tao, an official at the same health center who also owns a vehicle for patient transport services at the Phu My District Health Center.
"Our investigative agency accessed and verified the information yesterday afternoon and is currently conducting an investigation. However, the suspect (Huynh Phat Tai) is not currently in the area, and Mr. Vuong is receiving emergency treatment at Quy Nhon Hospital."
From a social order perspective, those who inflict injuries on others will be dealt with according to regulations. Internally, I believe we will propose to the Health Department to strengthen state management because both individuals are officials of the Health Center," said Colonel Le Thanh Ha, Head of the Phu My District Police, Binh Dinh Province.
