Lac Hong University represents Vietnam in the Asia-Pacific Robocon competition.

With a decisive APPARE victory in just 54 seconds, the LH-NICESHOT team from Lac Hong University became the Robocon 2017 champion and will represent Vietnam at the Robocon Asia-Pacific competition this August.

The Robocon 2017 final took place at the Ninh Binh Provincial Gymnasium on the evening of May 14th, with a competition between the LH-NICESHOT team from Lac Hong University (Dong Nai) and the SKH-2 team from Hung Yen University of Technology and Education. These are two of the three universities with the most teams reaching the finals this year - six teams each.

Lac Hong University successfully defended its Robocon Vietnam championship title.

With the theme "Conquering the Flying Disc," teams participating in Robocon 2017 had to design a robot capable of accurately throwing discs onto 7 pillars placed at different positions on the competition field. There were two ways for a team to win. The first way was to achieve an APPARE by landing discs on all 7 pillars. The second way was to land discs on some pillars and score more points than their opponent within 3 minutes. During the match, teams had the right to control their robots to intercept opponents' disc throws.

With extensive experience in the Robocon competition, both schools participating in the final brought the most stable robots to the competition. LH-NICESHOT's robot, with its superior speed, continuously threw discs onto the pillars on the playing field. On the other hand, the SKH-2 team tried to accurately intercept some of their opponent's discs but still couldn't keep up.

As a result, in less than 3 minutes, the robot from Lac Hong University threw discs onto all 7 pillars, thereby achieving an absolute victory in APPARE within 54 seconds, successfully defending the championship title that another team from the same university, LH-FF, had won last year. The SKH-2 team from Hung Yen University of Technology and Education came in second with 4 points in the final.

Earlier, the SKH-4 team from Hung Yen University of Technology and Education and the SPK-KRATOS team from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education shared third place after losing in their two semi-final matches.
