Winning APPARE in 54 seconds, the LH-NICESHOT team from Lac Hong University won the Robocon 2017 championship and became the representative of Vietnam to compete in the Asia-Pacific Robocon this August.

The Robocon 2017 finals took place at Ninh Binh Province Gymnasium on the evening of May 14 with the competition between the LH-NICESHOT team of Lac Hong University (Dong Nai) and SKH-2 of Hung Yen University of Technical Education. These are two of the three schools with the most teams entering the finals this year - 6 teams each.

Lac Hong University successfully defended the Vietnam Robocon championship title.

With the theme "Conquering the Flying Disc", the teams participating in Robocon 2017 must design a robot that can throw the disc accurately onto 7 pillars placed in different positions on the field. There are two ways for a team to win. The first way is to get APPARE by putting the disc on all 7 pillars. The second way is to place the disc on some pillars and score higher than the opponent in 3 minutes. During the match, the teams have the right to control the robot to throw the disc to block the opponent.

With a lot of experience in the Robocon arena, both schools participating in the final brought the most stable robots to the competition. LH-NICESHOT's robot with faster speed continuously threw the discs to the pillars on the competition field. On the other side, SKH-2 team tried to accurately block some of the opponent's discs but still could not keep up.

As a result, in less than 3 minutes, the robot from the team from Lac Hong University threw the disc onto all 7 pillars, thereby winning APPARE in 54 seconds, successfully defending the championship that another team from the school had achieved last year, LH-FF. Team SKH-2 from Hung Yen University of Technical Education came in second with 4 points in the final match.

Previously, team SKH-4 from Hung Yen University of Technical Education and SPK-KRATOS from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education both received third place after losing in two semi-final matches.
