Nghe An: Commune Chairman and Chairman of the Youth Union Council

(Baonghean) - Demonstrating the local government's involvement in the summer movement of youth, in Hung Tan commune (Hung Nguyen district), for many years in a row, the commune People's Committee Chairman has held the role of Honorary Chairman of the Commune Youth Union.

In Hung Tan commune, Hung Nguyen district, not only do people participate in summer activities with children, but the Party Committee and government also really "roll up their sleeves to work". Proof of this is that the commune People's Committee Chairman takes on the position of Chairman of the Commune Youth Union.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuc - Chairman of Hung Tan Commune People's Committee, the fact that the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee takes on the "position" of Chairman of the Honorary Council has become a "tradition" that has been maintained for many years in Hung Tan Commune.

Every year, after the students' summer vacation and in early July, the youth union organizes summer activities and practices rituals to prepare for the Team Rituals Competition on the occasion of the National Day September 2nd in the whole commune. Each hamlet will send a team to participate in: Team Rituals Competition; camping competition and art performances, sports competitions.

The Party Committee and the government of Hung Tan commune attach great importance to this work, so the Chairman of the People's Committee takes on the role of Chairman of the Youth Union Council, and the commune establishes a steering committee to be in charge of and support the work of youth and children with the Youth Union. In the hamlets, the hamlet chief is assigned to be the head of the steering committee for this work.

The Steering Committee assigns specific tasks to mass organizations as well as individuals to support and gather youth, union members, children and even people in hamlets to actively participate in Youth Union and Team activities. In which the key role is played by the Youth Union, Women's Union, Veterans Association, and hamlet secretaries...

Thanks to that, Hung Tan commune has mobilized the entire political system to participate, helping the commune's youth movement to always develop strongly, leading the locality in this work for many years.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuc said: “The Party Committee and the commune government not only lead and directly participate in the summer activities of the youth but also pay attention to implementing the activities of the Youth Union during the summer and also direct and support other activities during the year, especially on holidays and Tet. Because we are aware that improving the quality of the Youth Union and Pioneer movements is also creating a source of cadres and building movements for the locality in the future.

In the immediate future, gathering young people to participate in youth union and team activities during the summer break will help them avoid social evils, prevent accidents and injuries, and at the same time supplement soft skills in social integration. Thanks to that, for many years in Hung Tan commune, there have been no cases of students dropping out of school, no social evils or accidents, or drowning of children during the summer break.

Thanks to the attention and participation of the Party Committee and the government, along with the activeness of the Youth Union staff, the rate of commune-level units in Hung Nguyen district that organized well and effectively summer activities and Team etiquette competitions increased from 30% in 2012 to 100% in 2016.

Preparing for the 2017 summer activities and Team etiquette competition, Mr. Cao Anh Duc - Secretary of Hung Nguyen District Youth Union said: "The District Youth Union has completed training skills for commune youth union cadres; handing over the organization of summer activities to localities.

In which, the content of the activities of the Youth Union at the commune and hamlet levels will focus on implementing summer activities for young people such as: Team rites competition; activities to commemorate the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27; training and warnings on accident prevention, drowning for young people... so that the Youth Union members and students who come to the locality to participate in activities can experience meaningful and beneficial summers of childhood.
