Believing his wages were too low for 10 hours of work, Hung set fire to the paint factory, causing 1.5 billion VND in damage.

On the afternoon of June 22, the Nam Tu Liem District Police announced that they are temporarily detaining Cao Xuan Hung (22 years old, residing in Tuyen Quang) to investigate his alleged arson of a production workshop.

During questioning, Hung confessed that he was an employee of a furniture manufacturing company and was provided with food and accommodation at the factory. However, he worked about 10 hours a day but only received a salary of 4 million VND per month. Feeling underpaid, he conceived the idea of burning down the factory to "vent his anger."

On the evening of June 19th, Hung took about 30 liters of butyl (a flammable substance similar to gasoline) and poured it onto the paint workshop where he worked, then set it on fire. After the fire started, Hung continued to take more butyl and pour it onto the floor.

Many workers were preparing to go to sleep but discovered the fire in time and managed to escape. Property damage from the fire is estimated at approximately 1.5 billion VND.

After the incident, Hung fled to Tuyen Quang and was arrested on June 21st.
