FC Á Đông wins the Vinh Amateur Football Premier League championship.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 30th, the final round of the Vinh League amateur football tournament, organized by the Nghe An Provincial Amateur Football Association, took place at the football field of the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology (Vinh City). With a total of 31 points earned after 11 rounds, FC A Dong officially became the new champion of the Vinh League 2017.

With no more goals to strive for, in the final round most teams fielded their second-string lineups and played openly. As a result, FC Central Vietnam Construction Investment won against FC Hieu Hoang 9-1; FC Kim Bang defeated FC Yen Thanh 11-5; and FC Tuan Hung lost to FC Van Minh 1-5.

Despite having secured the championship title with one round to spare and fielding a second-string team, FC Á Đông still came from behind to defeat FC Hải An 7-6. In this match, Đỗ Toàn Thắng scored four goals, bringing his total for the season to 18.

However, FC Á Đông's star striker missed out on the top scorer title because in the very next match, Trần Công Kỳ scored 5 goals, bringing his total to 21 to claim the individual award alone, and also helping FC Chương Dương defeat FC Hiếu Giang 7-1.

At the end of the final round, the Vinh Amateur Premier League concluded with the following final results: Champion: FC Á Đông (31 points); Runner-up: FC Văn Minh (27 points); Third Place: FC Chương Dương (22 points); Fair Play Award: FC Đầu tư xây dựng Miền Trung; Top Scorer: Trần Công Kỳ (FC Chương Dương); Best Goalkeeper: Trần Huy Lê (FC Văn Minh); Relegated Team: FC Yên Thành (only 3 points after 11 matches); Team competing for a relegation play-off spot: FC Yên Đại (only 6 points after 11 rounds).
