Successful rescue of a fishing vessel with engine failure at sea.

(Baonghean.vn) - A fisherman's fishing boat suffered a broken propeller shaft and has sent out a distress signal requesting assistance.By 1 PM on July 30th, rescue forces had towed the ship and its 17 crew members safely ashore.

Earlier, at 6 PM on July 26th, while fishing at coordinates 18.3 N (north latitude), 106.5 E (east longitude), 66 nautical miles from the mainland, the fishing vessel NA 93362 STS owned by Mr. Bui Viet Trinh from Quynh Long, Quynh Luu, suffered a broken propeller shaft. Meanwhile, the food supply on board was almost depleted.

Immediately afterwards, the captain of the fishing vessel notified the Coastal Information Station and the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center for assistance. Upon receiving the information, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center dispatched the SAR 274 vessel to the rescue.

By 1 PM on July 30th, the rescue forces of Region 1 of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center had towed the ship and its 17 crew members safely ashore.

At the handover ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Director General of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center, presented gifts from the Vietnam Maritime Administration and the Ministry of Transport, and encouraged the fishermen to overcome the incident and quickly resume fishing activities.
