(Baonghean) - Ban Ve Hydropower Company is a subsidiary of Power Generation Corporation 1. Every year, the company operates efficiently, making a significant contribution to the Nghe An provincial budget, ranging from 150 to 160 billion VND per year.

Ban Ve Hydropower Company is responsible for managing and operating the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant and providing other services such as repair, operation management, and supervision of several hydropower projects. The company owns the Ban Ve Hydropower Plant, located in Yen Na commune (Tuong Duong district), with a designed capacity of 320 MW and an average annual electricity output of 1,037,000,000 kWh. The plant has been generating electricity since April 2010, and the cumulative electricity output as of June 30, 2017, was 7,255,128,940 kWh.

Throughout 2016 and the first seven months of 2017, the company consistently strived to overcome difficulties and successfully complete its production and business tasks, creating jobs and stable income for its employees and contributing to the state budget.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thu, Director of Ban Ve Hydropower Company, stated: In 2016, the company effectively operated in the electricity market, completing its production plan and maximizing revenue, achieving a total of 1,049 billion VND for the year. The average electricity price (after tax and fees) reached 1,192.97 VND/kWh, and the company contributed 177.7 billion VND in taxes and fees to the state budget. The plant operated safely and efficiently, with no accidents involving people or major equipment failures. The indicators for availability factor, failure rate, and self-consumption rate all met or exceeded requirements. Specifically: Electricity production reached 889.5 million kWh, achieving 121.5% of the assigned plan (732 million kWh) and 103.7% of the adjusted plan (858 million kWh). The self-consumption rate met the plant's assigned technical target (1.15%). The availability ratio in 2016 was 96.32%, meeting and exceeding the assigned target (96.22%).

In other tasks such as flood control, the company has closely coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to operate the reservoir, ensuring a good supply of irrigation water for downstream areas. At the same time, the reservoir's operation effectively mitigated two major floods in August and September, reducing peak flood levels and total flood flow by 80-90%.

The unit regularly promotes, disseminates, and inspects the implementation of the 5S program to maintain a tidy and clean working environment at all workplaces. It adheres to regulations, rules, and procedures to ensure fire safety. While in 2010, the unit's electricity production reached 319,882,327 kWh, contributing 25.4 billion VND in taxes, in 2016 electricity production increased to 879,256,055 kWh, contributing 150.7 billion VND to the state budget, and in the first six months of 2017, the contribution to the state budget reached 74.2 billion VND.

Since the plant began operations, Ban Ve Hydropower Company has paid approximately 940 billion VND in taxes to the provincial budget (including VAT on electricity generation, resource tax, personal income tax, and other taxes). Regarding all social welfare activities: The company strives to create the best possible working environment for its employees, such as organizing transportation for staff to and from work, ensuring salaries and insurance for employees, organizing visits and providing support to employees and their families during illness, and providing vacation time as per regulations.
