Ban Ve Hydropower Plant: Compete to produce well, pay high taxes

(Baonghean) - Ban Ve Hydropower Company is a unit under Power Generation Corporation 1. Every year, the unit has produced and done business effectively, contributing greatly to the budget of Nghe An province with 150 - 160 billion VND/year.

Ban Ve Hydropower Company has the function and task of managing and operating Ban Ve Hydropower Plant and performing a number of other services such as repairing, managing and operating, and supervising a number of hydropower projects. The Company has Ban Ve Hydropower Plant built in Yen Na Commune (Tuong Duong) with a designed capacity of 320MW, the average electricity output according to the designed annual power generation capacity is 1,037,000,000 KWh. The plant has been generating power since April 2010, the cumulative electricity output generated up to June 30, 2017 is 7,255,128,940 KWh.

In 2016 and the first 7 months of 2017, the Company always strived to overcome difficulties to excellently complete production and business tasks, create jobs, stable income for employees and contribute to the state budget.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thu - Director of Ban Ve Hydropower Company said: In 2016, the Company effectively operated the electricity market, completed the output plan and maximized revenue, the whole year reached 1,049 billion VND, the average electricity price (after tax and fees) reached 1,192.97 VND/kWh, paid 177.7 billion VND in taxes and fees to the budget. The unit safely and effectively operated the plant, with no human accidents or major equipment failures. The indicators of availability coefficient, incident rate, and self-consumption electricity ratio all met and exceeded requirements. Specifically: Electricity production reached 889.5 million kWh, reaching 121.5% of the assigned plan (732 million kWh) and reaching 103.7% of the adjusted plan (858 million kWh). The self-consumption electricity ratio was equal to the technical indicators of the assigned plant (1.15%). Availability ratio in 2016 was 96.32%, reaching and exceeding the assigned target (96.22%).

In other tasks such as flood and storm prevention, the Company has closely coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An province to operate the reservoir to ensure good irrigation water supply for downstream areas. At the same time, the reservoir operation has effectively played a role in reducing two major floods in August and September with a reduction rate of flood peaks and total flood flow of 80-90%.

The unit regularly propagates, disseminates and inspects the implementation of the 5S program to maintain a neat and clean working environment at work locations. Comply with regulations, rules and procedures to ensure fire safety. If in 2010, the unit's electricity output reached 319,882,327 kWh, tax payment was 25.4 billion VND, then in 2016 the electricity output increased to 879,256,055 kWh, budget payment was 150.7 billion VND and in the first 6 months of 2017 the budget payment was 74.2 billion VND.

Since the factory started operating, Ban Ve Hydropower Company has paid about 940 billion VND in taxes to the provincial budget (such as VAT on electricity generation, resource tax, personal income tax and other taxes).
