Thanh Chuong: Exchanging waste for livestock.

(Baonghean.vn) - On June 26th, the Women's Association of Thanh Lam commune (Thanh Chuong district) organized a ceremony to donate 15 flocks of breeding chickens and 8 breeding pigs to impoverished members, with a total cost of over 40 million VND. This funding came from donations from local people and the association's fund for transforming waste into livestock.

To help members gain knowledge of science and technology in livestock farming, the women's association invited a doctor from the district's livestock station to provide training on techniques for caring for and controlling pests and diseases in chickens.

Reportedly, Thanh Lam is the first unit in Thanh Chuong district to implement the movement of transforming waste into livestock. Based on this model, the Women's Union of Thanh Chuong district has expanded it to all 40 communes and towns in the district.
