By clearly defining title standards and evaluation criteria, the Politburo once again affirms its strong determination to clean up the cadre team.

Referring to the new regulations of the Politburo on title standards and criteria for evaluating cadres under the management of the Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of the Institute of Party Building, said that this is a continuation and concretization of the cadre standards that were issued 20 years ago.

The regulation was issued at a time when our Party is urgently overcoming shortcomings that have appeared recently, when many values were abused, causing public outrage.

These regulations will be the basis and foundation for the appointment and promotion of leaders in the coming terms. Although it is not possible to provide a complete and detailed list of regulations, some strict and very necessary regulations have been "named". In the spirit of doing and perfecting at the same time, the Party will continue to add necessary regulations.

A special point in this regulation has been emphasized by the Politburo, which is that "cadres under the management of the Central Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat must be cadres who absolutely do not have ambitions for power."

To clarify this concept, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan pointed out that the ambition for power of cadres is shown through the following manifestations: cadres concealing their shortcomings; the irresponsibility of those working in cadre work without fully verifying; dishonest declarations to "climb higher and burrow deeper"; disregarding all principles, rules, and shortcomings to beautify and praise a person, helping them to get through all the steps in the process, causing the incorrect arrangement of cadres to cause harm to the country and the nation.

Mr. Tuan also said that after high-ranking officials, it will certainly be done with lower-ranking officials. However, the current law on civil servants has clearly regulated officials and public servants and has enough basis for handling. It is just that the implementation has not been done well in the past.

The problem here is that we need to educate more, inform more, warn more, public opinion must condemn more strongly, and the Central Government must even increase disciplinary action to combine many measures to have a better team of cadres to serve the people.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Ha, former Director of the Institute of Party History, specific regulations on title standards and evaluation criteria for senior officials of the Party and State are only guidelines and requirements.

However, once again, the Politburo affirmed its strong determination to clean up the cadre team, especially high-ranking cadres, to regain the people's trust. That determination shows that, in addition to actions, there are also specific regulations and policies, and words must go hand in hand with deeds.

Issued in the context of our Party being in a fierce "campaign" against corruption and moral degradation, with a series of high-ranking officials being disciplined, this regulation can be seen as another determination of the Politburo to resolutely handle individuals who commit violations, especially high-ranking officials.

This is a proof to the public that the handling of erring officials is no longer “from the shoulders down”. This regulation is not only aimed at senior officials but is also a reminder for lower-level officials to look to the example of their superiors and follow suit.

Mr. Ha also said that the Party's anti-corruption campaign cannot be avoided when "a large number of cadres" have caused negative influence in the Party due to manifestations such as degradation of moral qualities and lifestyle.

Only by taking strong and decisive action can the Party regain the people's trust and clean up its cadres. Cadres are servants of the people and cannot "enrich themselves" and not care about serving the people./.
