Vinh City is trimming trees before Typhoon No. 2 makes landfall.
(Baonghean.vn) - Trees were trimmed along 44 roads in the city. Due to the tight timeframe, trees at high risk of breaking were prioritized.
On the afternoon of July 16th, Vinh City Green Parks Joint Stock Company mobilized dozens of employees and two crane trucks, divided into two teams, to prune trees along the city's streets.
"We will be trimming trees on 44 streets in the city. However, due to the tight schedule and the fear of not being able to complete the work before tonight, we will prioritize streets with many old trees first, such as Phan Dinh Phung, Phong Dinh Cang, Tran Phu, etc.," said a company official.

Tree maintenance workers also prioritize pruning paulownia trees – a common tree planted on streets that is at high risk of breaking due to its brittle trunk. After that, they move on to trees with wide canopies such as mahogany and Terminalia catappa.
According to observations, on some streets such as Phan Dinh Phung, numerous old trees stand close to rows of bustling shops. Their canopies reach tens of meters high, obscuring many shops. Meanwhile, heavy rain and tangled power lines are making pruning and trimming difficult.
