(Baonghean) - The people of Chan village, Thach Giam commune, Tuong Duong district, always hold the village Party Secretary, Vi Van Lip, in high regard for his exemplary conduct and dedication to village affairs.

Ban Chan village has 122 households and 348 inhabitants, of which the Thai ethnic group accounts for 99.5%. The total natural area is 746.5 hectares, including 403.5 hectares of forest land and 330 hectares of agricultural land. There are no paddy fields, and the lives of the people are still facing many difficulties.

The Party Secretary of the village, Mr. Vi Van Lip, has always been concerned about finding ways to help the people overcome poverty. This includes implementing a shift towards growing various types of vegetables and developing livestock farming. To date, Chan village has over 60 households growing vegetables on 1.5 hectares, with a herd of 406 buffaloes and cows, 492 pigs, 270 goats, and 2,500 poultry, providing a steady and stable income.

Mr. Vi Van Lip said: "Now that we've abandoned farming to grow vegetables, life is much better. We have enough to eat and some money left over for savings and expenses. The vegetables from Chan village are bought up before they even reach the market."

The family of Party branch secretary Vi Văn Líp is also a prime example of vegetable farming in the village, growing a variety of crops such as mung beans, green beans, gourds, and pumpkins. In addition, he raises 6 cows, 5 pigs, and over 100 broiler chickens.

Party Secretary Vi Van Lip, along with the collective of 39 party members in Lip village, encouraged the people to develop commercial services, leveraging their proximity to Hoa Binh town for small-scale trading, maximizing the use of agricultural products such as vegetables for buying and selling, and maintaining and developing carpentry and weaving groups… bringing the average per capita income to 19 million VND, achieving 100% of the target set by the party branch resolution, and reducing the number of poor households to 8 out of 122 households, accounting for 6.55%.

Thanks to the exemplary conduct, dedication, and commitment to action of Party branch secretary Vi Văn Líp, the Party branch's plans for building new rural areas have been enthusiastically supported by the village management board, mass organizations, and the people.

Besides donating land and trees, the villagers also contributed money and labor to build rural roads. Chan village also maintains good forest conservation, protection, and care practices (forest planting area reached 28/25 hectares, exceeding the target set in the resolution). The work of building a cultural village and cultural families is also taken care of by Secretary Vi Van Lip and the Party branch.

In particular, the village has established a set of regulations with specific provisions such as no exorbitant dowry demands, no wedding ceremonies lasting more than two days, and no keeping the deceased's body for more than 24 hours. In addition, regulations prohibiting the free-ranging of livestock and poultry, gambling and harboring gamblers, and penalties for petty theft (of agricultural and forestry products) are also strictly observed by the people.

As a result, the percentage of families recognized as "cultured families" reached over 80%, and there were no third births in the village. The village Party branch achieved the status of a model clean and strong organization, and all mass organizations operated effectively with high-quality movements.

Speaking with us, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Giam commune, Vang Hong Chuyen, said: "The movement in Chan village in particular, and in the villages of Thach Giam commune in general, has developed evenly, and the material and spiritual lives of the people have continuously improved, partly thanks to the contributions of 'leaders' like Mr. Vi Van Lip."
