'Locomotive' of Chan village

Ban Chan has 122 households, 348 people, of which Thai ethnic people account for 99.5%, total natural area of ​​746.5 hectares, forestry land 403.5 hectares, agricultural land 330 hectares, no rice fields, people's lives still face many difficulties.

The village Party cell secretary - Mr. Vi Van Lip is always concerned about finding ways to help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty. That is to convert to growing vegetables of all kinds and develop livestock. Up to now, Chan village has more than 60 households growing vegetables of all kinds with an area of ​​1.5 hectares, a herd of 406 buffaloes and cows, a herd of 492 pigs, a herd of 270 goats, and 2,500 poultry for a steady and stable income.

Mr. Vi Van Lip said: Now that we have abandoned our fields to grow vegetables, our lives are much better, we have enough to eat, save money, and spend money. Before the vegetables of the people in Chan village reach the market, people have already bought them all.

The family of Party cell secretary Vi Van Lip is also a typical example of growing vegetables in the village with all kinds: mac fip, green beans, squash, pumpkin... In addition, he also raises 6 cows, 5 pigs, and over 100 chickens.

Secretary Vi Van Lip and the Lip village Party cell, consisting of 39 party members, also encouraged people to develop commercial services, take advantage of being close to Hoa Binh town to do small business, collect agricultural products such as vegetables of all kinds to buy, sell, and exchange; maintain and develop carpentry and weaving groups... bringing in an average income per capita of 19/19 million VND, reaching 100% compared to the resolution of the Party cell, the number of poor households decreased to 8/122 households, accounting for 6.55%.

Thanks to the exemplary, dedicated, and consistent actions of Party cell Secretary Vi Van Lip, the plans proposed by the Party cell in building new rural areas were enthusiastically responded to by the village management board, mass organizations, and people.

In addition to donating land and trees, villagers also contributed money and labor to build rural roads. Chan village is also a locality that maintains good forest protection and care (forest planting area reaches 28/25 hectares, exceeding the resolution's target). The work of building a cultural village and a cultural family is also taken care of by Secretary Vi Van Lip and the Party cell.

In particular, the village has established a village covenant with specific terms and conditions such as no dowry, no weddings lasting more than 2 days; no dead bodies left for more than 24 hours... In addition, regulations prohibiting free-range livestock and poultry, gambling and harboring gamblers, and regulations on punishment for petty theft (agricultural and forestry products) are also strictly followed by the people.

Thanks to that, the rate of cultural families reached over 80%, in the village no one had a third child. The village Party cell achieved exemplary clean and strong status, the organizations operated regularly, the quality of the movement was quite good.

Talking to us, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Giam commune - Vang Hong Chuyen said: The movement in Chan village in particular, and the villages in Thach Giam commune in general, has developed evenly, the material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved, partly thanks to the contributions of "locomotives" like Mr. Vi Van Lip.
