Personnel changes at the Ministry of Industry and Trade: Many leaders take on new positions

Along with the process of restructuring the organizational apparatus, on August 21, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh made many decisions related to the personnel apparatus with many changes.

Recently, the Government issued Decree No. 98/ND-CP on the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to better respond to the new situation.

A notable point in Decree 98 of the Government is that the administrative and public service units in the organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade are arranged and reduced from 35 units to 30 units (the initial plan was to reduce to 28 units).

The organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has undergone many significant changes. Specifically, the Market Management Department has been “upgraded” to the General Department of Market Management.

The General Department of Energy is no longer retained, replaced by new units such as the Department of Oil, Gas and Coal, the Department of Energy Conservation and Sustainable Development, and the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy.

There have been many changes in the personnel of the Departments and Offices under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The two Departments of Finance and Enterprise Innovation merged into one department, the Department of Finance and Enterprise Innovation.

The Department of Heavy Industry and the Department of Light Industry are no longer separate but have become one Department, the Department of Industry.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade also established two new Departments on the basis of the old Competition Management Department: the Department of Trade Defense and the Department of Competition and Consumer Protection.

The Department of E-commerce and Information Technology also has a new name: Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy.

The Departments in charge of trade with foreign partners are also reduced to two Departments: the Department of Asian - African Markets and the Department of European - American Markets.

With the General Department of Energy being divided into many departments and agencies (such as the Department of Oil, Gas and Coal, the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development, the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy), the leaders of the General Department of Energy also received new tasks.

Specifically, from August 21, Mr. Dang Huy Cuong, former Director General of the General Department of Energy, is in charge of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development.

Mr. Phuong Hoang Kim, former Deputy Director General of the General Department of Energy, in charge of the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy.

Mr. Do Duc Quan, former Deputy Director General of the General Department of Energy, holds the position of Deputy Director, with the title of Director of the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy - the newly established Department.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Son, former Deputy Director General of the General Department of Energy, in charge of the Department of Oil, Gas and Coal.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Tho, former Deputy Director General of the General Department of Energy, holds the position of Deputy Director, Director of the Department of Oil, Gas and Coal until reaching retirement age according to regulations.

The leaders of the abolished departments were also transferred to new assignments. Specifically, Mr. Tran Duy Dong, former Director of the Americas Market Department, is in charge of the Domestic Market Department.

With a new person in charge, Mr. Nguyen Loc An, Deputy Director in charge of the Domestic Market Department, also stopped being in charge of the Domestic Market Department. Mr. Nguyen Loc An took charge of this Department after the Director of this Department, Mr. Vo Van Quyen, retired a short time ago.

Another department that was abolished was the Department of Border and Mountainous Trade, and its leaders also received new assignments. For example, Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, former Deputy Director of the Department of Border and Mountainous Trade, held the position of Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi, former Deputy Director of the Department of Border and Mountainous Trade, holds the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Domestic Market.

With the new name of the Department of E-commerce and Information Technology, the leaders have not changed much, only the title has been changed according to the new unit name.

Specifically, Ms. Lai Viet Anh, former Deputy Director in charge of the Department of E-commerce and Information Technology, holds the position of Deputy Director in charge of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy until the appointment of the Director of this department.

Mr. Nguyen The Quang, former Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Information Technology, holds the position of Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy.

Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan, former Deputy Director of the Competition Management Department, was in charge of the Competition and Consumer Protection Department (recently established) until the appointment of this department's director.
