Vinamilk shares the difficulties faced by children in flood-affected areas due to Typhoon No. 10.

(Baonghean.vn) - During a visit to the company by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Vinamilk donated 160,000 boxes of milk, worth a total of 1 billion VND, to children in the three provinces of Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An - areas that suffered significant damage from Typhoon No. 10 recently.

In conjunction with her visit to Long An province to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the province being awarded the title "Brave and Resilient, the Entire People Fighting the Enemy" (September 17, 1967 – September 17, 2017) and receiving the Second Class Independence Order for the second time, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan recently visited Vinamilk's Vietnam Dairy Factory in Binh Duong.

During the meeting, Ms. Mai Kieu Lien, General Director of Vinamilk, reported to the Chairman of the National Assembly on the business results for the first eight months of the year and Vinamilk's five-year strategic direction for the period 2017-2020. The Chairman of the National Assembly highly appreciated Vinamilk's development over the past 40 years and was impressed with the scale and modernity of the factory - one of the three most modern dairy factories in the world.

This is not only a source of pride for Vinamilk but also a shared pride for the Vietnamese people. National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan hopes that Vinamilk will continue to develop sustainably according to its business strategy.

In addition, the Chairman of the National Assembly also stated that in the past, some regulations of state agencies have created difficulties for the development of businesses. The National Assembly has made and will continue to make adjustments to inappropriate legal regulations to create favorable conditions for the healthy development of the Vietnamese dairy industry in the future.

During the visit of the National Assembly Chairman, Vinamilk donated 160,000 boxes of milk, worth a total of 1 billion VND, to children in the three provinces of Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An – areas severely affected by the recent floods caused by Typhoon No. 10; with the hope of sharing the difficulties and helping the children there recover physically after the natural disaster.

In the first six months of this year, Vinamilk's sales and profits increased by nearly 12% and 17% respectively. This year's projected sales are approximately VND 51,000 billion, profits VND 12,000 billion, and tax contributions to the state budget around VND 4,200 billion. Vinamilk is currently one of the top 50 largest dairy companies in the world by revenue (according to KPMG 2016).
