Sympathy for the old man who takes care of his sick and disabled family

(Baonghean.vn) - Although she is in her seventies, Ms. Nguyen Thi Chat in Hamlet 8, Nam Anh Commune (Nam Dan) still has to work hard to take care of her sick husband and two disabled children.

Mrs. Chat's family situation is extremely difficult. Even at the age of 73, she still has to take care of and provide medicine for her family of three sick and disabled members every day.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tu (80 years old) - her husband has had brain atrophy since 2015, poor health, difficulty walking. Ms. Nguyen Thuan (43 years old) and Nguyen Thi Hoa (40 years old) - her daughter, both have bone and joint diseases, nervous system, are weak, unable to take care of themselves.

Nguyen Thi Thuan has been seriously ill since she was in the fourth grade, and had difficulty walking, so she had to drop out of school. Nguyen Thi Hoa has been sick since she was born. Although the two sisters were sick and not very agile, they were still able to walk, do housework, and help their parents with farm work. However, over the past 10 years, both of their illnesses have gotten worse.

Currently, Ms. Thuan is able to walk, but moving her arms and legs and doing personal activities is very difficult, she needs help. Ms. Hoa is sick, cannot walk by herself, can only lie in bed, and needs someone to help her when moving.

Her husband and children are both sick and ill. For more than 10 years now, despite her poor health, all the worries of the family have fallen heavily on Mrs. Chat's shoulders. Every day, she is on duty, serving meals, cleaning, and looking after her husband and 2 children.

While feeding her children, Mrs. Chat said with a choked voice: “When they were born, they were normal like everyone else, but as they grew older, their illnesses became more and more serious. Before, the family had to run around everywhere, but the family was poor, it was difficult to even afford food, and they didn’t know where to get money for treatment, so now they are helpless. I only worry about who will take care of them when they are sick.”

Mrs. Chat’s family is currently the most disadvantaged household in the neighborhood. The whole family is elderly and sick, and all their activities depend on government subsidies. They are in dire need of the community’s help and support.
