An escaped death row inmate was captured in Hai Duong

Police confirmed that death row inmate Le Van Tho (Tho “Sut”, 37 years old) was arrested on the afternoon of September 16 in Hai Duong, after 5 days of escaping from detention.

Colonel Bui Ngoc Phi, Director of Hai Duong Provincial Police Department, saidVnExpressIt is known that at the end of September 16, Hai Duong Provincial Police coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to arrest Tho while he was hiding in Nam Sach district.

The leader of the Criminal Police Department said Tho is being taken to the T16 prison (Ministry of Public Security). The hunt for the remaining death row inmate Nguyen Van Tinh is still underway.

On the night of September 10 to the morning of September 11, taking advantage of the heavy rain, two death row inmates Le Van Tho and Nguyen Van Tinh (28 years old) broke their shackles, dug into the cell wall of Camp T16 of the Ministry of Public Security, climbed the prison wall and then used a rope to escape.

On September 11, Tinh returned to a relative's house in Yen Trung commune, Thach That district (Hanoi) and took a motorbike to escape with Tho "Sut".

On the evening of September 13, they were discovered at a karaoke bar in Ha Long city (Quang Ninh).

Ha Long police have sent out notices to residents asking them to be vigilant and to report any information about the two men to the local police immediately. Photos of the two criminals have also been released to the public.
