Rooney banned from driving for 2 years and sentenced to 100 hours of community service
Appearing in court on September 18, the Everton striker admitted driving while intoxicated on the morning of September 1.
Rooney was banned from driving for two years and ordered to do 100 hours of community service within a year. He was also ordered to pay the costs of the hearing at Stockport Magistrates' Court.
As reported, Cheshire Police have just announced that Wayne Rooney has been detained for driving under the influence of alcohol. The former England captain has been released on bail, but will appear in court on September 18.

"The man was arrested shortly after 2am today, Friday 1 September, after police stopped a black VW Beetle on Altrincham Road, Wilmslow," police said in a statement.
According to the Sun, the black VW Beetle belonged to an office worker named Laura Simpson. She admitted to spending "10 crazy hours" with Rooney at a bar before the Everton player drove them home. Laura Simpson revealed that Rooney was "angry and worried" when he was dragged out of the car by police. If this information is true, Rooney could be in trouble with his pregnant wife Coleen.
Rooney and Everton have not commented on the matter. The 31-year-old striker could be fined $414,000 by Everton and banned from the next match by manager Ronald Koeman.
Before bringing Rooney back to Goodison Park, Koeman told the former Man Utd player that he wanted him to be a role model for the younger players. And the England striker pledged to live up to his coach's expectations. But with this violation, Rooney has broken that promise.
Koeman praised Rooney after the 1-1 draw with Man City, saying he had quickly become a leader in the Everton dressing room after returning from Man Utd.
