Viettel, Vinaphone, and MobiFone are testing mobile number portability.
Starting today (September 21st), Viettel is conducting a trial of mobile number portability. Vinaphone and MobiFone are also preparing to implement this feature.

A representative from Viettel stated: On September 21st, the technical team will conduct a trial run of mobile number portability, with data connection being established at the National Mobile Number Portability Center.
The National Mobile Number Portability Center will be responsible for processing the number portability process. The national database located at the National Mobile Number Portability Center stores routing information for all ported subscribers and information about number portability transactions for the purpose of reconciliation between businesses.
Simultaneously, the national database will update all databases of mobile telecommunications businesses whenever there is any change in information regarding subscribers switching networks. This pilot program will serve as a prerequisite for officially implementing mobile number portability, as previously required by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to be implemented before December 31, 2017.
Meanwhile, Vinaphone and MobiFone also announced that they are taking the necessary steps to implement the new policy for end users.
