Viettel, Vinaphone and MobiFone test network switching while keeping the same number
Starting today (September 21), Viettel network will conduct a trial run of the number portability. In addition, Vinaphone and MobiFone are also taking steps to prepare for implementation.

Viettel network representative said: On September 21, the technical team will conduct a test run of the network switching while keeping the same number, the data connection will be performed at the National Network Switching Center.
The National Switching Center will be responsible for handling the switching process. The national database located at the National Switching Center stores the routing information of all switched subscribers and information on switching transactions of subscribers for the purpose of cross-checking between businesses.
At the same time, the national database will simultaneously update all databases of mobile telecommunications enterprises whenever there is any change in information about subscribers switching networks. The trial run will be a premise to help officially apply the number portability, according to the previous request of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to be applied before December 31, 2017.
Meanwhile, Vinaphone and MobiFone also announced that they are taking the necessary steps to apply the new policy to end users.
