Nghe An Electricity conducts disaster prevention drills
(Baonghean.vn) - The hypothetical situation is that a level 9 storm makes landfall in Nghe An province, with heavy rain and strong winds, causing an incident on the 110 KV Hung Dong - Nam Dan power grid, with the low voltage grid in Nam Hung collapsing and breaking poles.
The simulated drill situation was set up by the Northern Power Corporation, the Northern High Voltage Grid Company, Nghe An Power Company, and the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Nghe An province on the morning of April 18.
According to the assumption, at 6:00 a.m., a level 9 storm made landfall in Nghe An province, with heavy rain and strong winds, causing an incident on the 110 KV power grid on Highway 172E15.1 Hung Dong - Nam Dan; the 35 kV power grid branching off of Nam Giang Substation No. 1 was electrocuted due to a fallen tree, and the low-voltage power grid after Nam Hung Substation No. 5 (Nam Dan) had a broken pole...
After receiving the information, Nghe An Electricity Company mobilized all line workers of Nghe An Branch to restore the line in time to ensure power supply to loads in the western region of Nghe An province.

During the 1-day period, the disaster prevention and search and rescue drill was a great success. The working units completed the assigned tasks well, ensuring safety, quality and timeliness.

Nghe An is located in the tropical monsoon climate zone, so it is often affected by whirlwinds, floods, and local landslides in some areas of the area. Every year, from April to October, storms often appear with heavy rain and strong winds. In recent years, floods and landslides in the area have had an impact on the management and operation of power supply.
Faced with this situation, the Northern Power Corporation, the Northern High Voltage Grid Company, Nghe An Power Company, and the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Nghe An province organized a disaster prevention drill to train and raise awareness for officers and employees in handling unusual incidents on the power system in general and in case of incidents caused by natural disasters./.
