Nghe An Power Company conducts disaster prevention and response drill.
(Baonghean.vn) - The simulated scenario involves a Category 9 typhoon making landfall in Nghe An province, with heavy rain and strong winds causing incidents on the 110 KV Hung Dong - Nam Dan power grid, and low-voltage power lines in Nam Hung collapsing and poles breaking.
The simulated scenario for the drill was set up by the Northern Power Corporation, the Northern High Voltage Grid Company, the Nghe An Power Company, and the Nghe An Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue on the morning of April 18th.
According to the assumption, at 6 AM, a level 9 storm made landfall in Nghe An province, bringing heavy rain and strong winds, causing incidents on the 110 KV power grid, line 172E15.1 Hung Dong - Nam Dan; the 35 kV power grid branch to Substation No. 1 Nam Giang due to fallen trees causing electrical discharges; and the low-voltage power grid after Substation No. 5 Nam Hung (Nam Dan) had broken poles...
Upon receiving the information, Nghe An Power Company mobilized all its power line workers from the Nghe An Branch to restore the power line in a timely manner, ensuring electricity supply to loads in the western part of Nghe An province.

Nghe An is located in a tropical monsoon climate zone, so it is often affected by strong winds, floods, and localized landslides in some areas. Every year, from April to October, typhoons accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds often occur. In recent years, the flooding and landslides in the area have had an impact on the management and operation of electricity supply.
In response to this situation, the Northern Power Corporation, the Northern High Voltage Grid Company, the Nghe An Power Company, and the Nghe An Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue organized a disaster prevention drill aimed at training and raising awareness among staff in handling unusual incidents on the power system in general and in the event of a natural disaster.
