Chinese VT-4 tanks cannot withstand sniper bullets

After introducing the Chinese VT-4 tank into service, Pakistan complained that the tank was too weak and could not withstand sniper fire.

This surprising information was revealed by Almasdar news citing Pakistani military sources, the strongest tank exported is the VT-4 which is not a real tank because the rear of this tank becomes an extremely weak area.

The fatal weakness was only discovered by Pakistan after putting this tank into service. Disappointed with the export version of China's VT-4 tank, Pakistan demanded to buy China's most advanced tank, the Type 99A, which was produced exclusively for the Chinese army.

With the design of the VT-4's rear armor, Pakistan believes that only the Pugsley sniper rifles produced by the US during World War I, without the need for anti-tank missiles, can easily eliminate this tens-of-ton tank from combat.

According to public information, the VT-4 is a product of China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) designed based on the Soviet T-72 but with a Western-style turret.

The sides are equipped with protection, the front is equipped with explosive reactive armor to increase survivability on the battlefield. The design of the VT-4 is quite modern and has many similarities with the Type-99 main battle tank.

This tank line is equipped with a firepower system including a 125mm gun copied from the Russian 2A46 gun. The Chinese-made gun is also capable of launching anti-tank missiles through the barrel. Secondary weapons include a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun and a 12.7mm remotely controlled heavy machine gun.

The Chinese manufacturer also introduced the VT-4 as a fully digital tank. The vehicle's fire control system is said to be co-produced with the Turkish Aselsan group.

The VT-4 also has a “hunt-to-kill” feature, allowing it to fire accurately while on the move. However, the technical claims of the VT-4 have not been independently verified.

In terms of mobility, the VT-4 is equipped with a 1,300 horsepower turbocharged diesel engine, a maximum speed of 67 km/h, and a cruising range of 500 km. The VT-4 has a combat weight of 52 tons.

With the VT-4's complicated equipment, NORINCO asserted that this tank line can defeat most modern tanks in the world, including Russia's T-90. However, everything just stopped at the declaration and the real quality of the VT-4 was severely criticized by customers.
