The Chinese VT-4 tank cannot withstand sniper fire.

After acquiring the Chinese VT-4 tank, Pakistan complained that the tank was too weak and could not withstand sniper fire.

This surprising information, revealed by Almasdar news citing Pakistani military sources, indicates that the most powerful tank exported, the VT-4, is not entirely a true tank because its rear section becomes an extremely vulnerable area.

Pakistan only discovered the fatal flaw after putting this tank into service. Disappointed with the export variant of China's VT-4 tank, Pakistan demanded to purchase China's most advanced tank, the Type 99A, which is produced exclusively for the Chinese military.

With the design of the VT-4's rear armor, Pakistan believed that even with just Pugsley sniper rifles, manufactured by the US during World War I, and without the need for anti-tank missiles, this multi-ton tank could easily be neutralized.

According to publicly available information, the VT-4 is a product of the North China Industrial Corporation (NORINCO), designed based on the Soviet T-72 but with a Western-style turret.

The sides are equipped with protection, and the front is fitted with explosive reactive armor to increase survivability on the battlefield. The VT-4's design is quite modern and shares many similarities with the Type-99 main battle tank.

This tank is equipped with a firepower system consisting of a 125 mm cannon copied from the Russian 2A46 cannon. The Chinese-made cannon is also capable of firing anti-tank missiles through the barrel. Secondary weapons include a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun and a remotely controlled 12.7 mm heavy machine gun.

The Chinese manufacturer also presented the VT-4 as a fully digitized tank. The tank's fire control system is said to be a collaborative production with Türkiye's Aselsan Group.

The VT-4 also possesses "hunt and destroy" capabilities, allowing it to fire accurately while moving. However, claims about the VT-4's technical characteristics have not been independently verified.

In terms of mobility, the VT-4 is equipped with a 1,300 horsepower turbocharged diesel engine, has a top speed of 67 km/h, and a range of 500 km. The VT-4 has a combat weight of 52 tons.

With its elaborate equipment, NORINCO claimed that the VT-4 could defeat most modern tanks in the world, including Russia's T-90. However, this remained just a statement, and the actual quality of the VT-4 was heavily criticized by customers.
