Piaggio Vietnam is recalling 3,335 Medley 125/150 ABS vehicles manufactured from February to August 2016 to upgrade the main frame.

After being approved by the Vietnam Register, Piaggio officially issued a recall notice for 3,335 Medley 125/150 ABS, manufactured from February to August 2016, and sold on the market.

This motorcycle joint venture also added that this is a recall program within the general policy of the Piaggio group.

The cause of this recall was determined to be that the company discovered that the main frame tube of some of the above batches of Piaggio Medley ABS 125/150 vehicles, under conditions of heavy trucks or usage not according to normal usage standards, could be damaged.

Piaggio Group has decided to recall the above Medley vehicles for a free general inspection and to upgrade the vehicle frame by strengthening the main tube body. At the same time, the recalled vehicles will have their warranty extended by 1 year or 10,000 km.

This recall campaign starts from November 10, 2017 to October 31, 2018. The inspection and upgrade time is expected to take about 2 minutes. Users can bring their vehicles to Piaggio dealers nationwide for inspection and upgrade.

Launched in the Vietnamese market in March 2016, Piaggio Medley is a high-end scooter line, competing directly with Honda SH. Piaggio's scooters also have the option of 125 cc and 150 cc engine versions like its competitors. At launch, this high-end scooter line was even more outstanding when equipped with an ABS anti-lock braking system and integrated USB charging port for handheld devices.

Piaggio Medley is currently priced at 71.5-86 million VND depending on the version.
