Promoting the application of information technology in medical examination and treatment facilities

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 12, Prof. Dr. Le Quang Cuong - Deputy Minister of Health and the Ministry's working delegation worked with Nghe An Department of Health on the application of information technology in medical examination and treatment facilities.

Reporting at the meeting, a representative of Nghe An Department of Health said that in recent years, to contribute to improving the quality of medical services, the sector has increased the application of information technology in medical examination and treatment facilities and reformed administrative procedures in the process of health insurance payment between the Social Insurance agency and medical examination and treatment facilities.

Up to now, Nghe An Health sector has deployed IT application in medical examination and treatment and health insurance payment covering from province to district, to all health stations of communes, wards and towns. Specifically: 12/12 provincial hospitals, 19/19 hospitals, health centers of district level, 480/480 health stations of communes, wards and towns have connected data on medical examination and treatment and health insurance payment according to the plan set out by the Ministry of Health as well as Nghe An province.

Medical facilities have built LAN networks at the agency, applied management software such as: Hospital Management; MISA accounting software for all units in the Industry, applied VNPT-iOffice management software at the Department Office, Provincial Department of Population - Family Planning.

The software has brought efficiency in work resolution and management. 100% of incoming and outgoing documents are digitized and processed by document management software.

At the meeting, leaders of the units participated in contributing ideas and sharing experiences on difficulties and shortcomings in the process of implementing medical examination and treatment services using IT, especially issues related to card codes, drug codes, consumables, technical services... thereby agreeing on solutions in the implementation of applications to provide patients with the best services.

The Deputy Minister and the members of the delegation acknowledged the comments and suggestions of the leaders of the Nghe An Health sector and representatives of medical units. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Department should focus on solving the remaining problems in the process of applying technology in hospitals. At the same time, in the coming time, the Nghe An Health sector needs to further promote the application of information technology in medical examination and treatment activities.
