The US President insists that he is not considering firing Special Counsel Mueller.

On December 17, US President Donald Trump confirmed that he has no plans to fire former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who also served as special counsel overseeing the investigation into allegations of Russian interference in the US presidential election.

The US president reiterated statements made by Republican officials over the weekend that he is not considering firing special counsel Mueller.

President Trump's legal team has leveled new accusations against investigators. In a letter to Congress dated December 16th, lawyer Kory Langhofer accused Mueller's office of violating the U.S. Constitution by illegally obtaining emails from a government agency. These emails included confidential communications between the legal team and their client.

Following these allegations, several senior White House officials told the media that the President had no intention of firing Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
