Wife grabbed hammer and killed husband in anger
After beating her husband to death, Sam quickly organized a funeral to cover up her crime but was still discovered by the police.
On January 4, Hoang Su Phi District Police (Ha Giang) announced that they had decided to prosecute Lu Thi Sam (36 years old, residing in Chien Pho commune) for murder.

According to the police, at around 8:00 p.m. on December 20, 2017, Lu Van Vinh (36 years old) was drinking at his neighbor's house when he saw his wife, Sam, come over. Vinh asked his wife for money but was refused, so he got angry.
During the struggle, Vinh slapped and hit his wife many times and only stopped when people intervened. He was then hit multiple times on the head by Sam with a wooden hammer, causing his death the next morning.
The wife then did not report to the police but held a funeral for her husband according to local customs. Seeing the unusual incident, Hoang Su Phi District Police exhumed the body and determined that the victim had a fractured skull.
