The impressive video of the B-2 stealth bomber performing a wing flap test on June 14, 1995, is still extremely attractive for many reasons.

According to Business Insider, all aircraft wings have the ability to be flexible, but one of the biggest changes in aircraft technology over the past three decades has been the addition of composite materials, particularly carbon fiber, to aircraft structural design.

In many cases, these composites have replaced alloys in structural parts on modern aircraft.

The B-2 Spirit is now made of nearly 80 percent composite materials, mostly carbon fiber. Some of the B-2's internal structural frames, especially where the wings sweep toward the fuselage and where the largest fuel tanks are located, are made of titanium and aluminum.
