Suspect arrested for the brutal murder of an elderly woman and her daughter.
Unable to find his common-law wife, the 71-year-old suspect murdered two people.
On the morning of January 7th, the Criminal Police Department (PC45) of the Soc Trang Provincial Police announced that, in coordination with C45, they had arrested Le Van Ri (71 years old) - the suspect in the brutal murder of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nam (79 years old) and her daughter, Mrs. Vo Thi Phuong (45 years old), both residing in Hamlet 2, Trinh Phu Commune, Ke Sach District, Soc Trang Province.

According to initial information, at around 11 PM on January 5th, while the whole family was asleep, a man broke in and stabbed Mrs. Nam, Mrs. Phuong, and Mrs. Phuong's husband, Mr. Nguyen Van Doi (44 years old). However, Mr. Doi managed to escape, but his wife and mother-in-law were brutally murdered with multiple stab wounds.
According to relatives of Mr. Nam, due to family conflicts, Ms. Vo Thi B. (47 years old, Mr. Nam's daughter) left home several days ago. The suspect, Ri (who has a wife and children in Ho Chi Minh City but has been living with Ms. B. as husband and wife for many years), came to Mr. Nam's house to look for Ms. B. Unable to find his "wife," Ri started a fight.
Late on January 5th, the suspect Ri, wearing a mask, broke into Mrs. Nam's house and committed the murder. After committing the crime, suspect Ri fled to Ho Chi Minh City.
