Arrested suspect of brutally murdering an old mother and her child

On the morning of January 7, the Criminal Police Department (PC45) of Soc Trang Province Police announced that the unit, in coordination with C45, had arrested Le Van Ri (71 years old) - the suspect in the brutal murder of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nam (79 years old) and her daughter, Mrs. Vo Thi Phuong (45 years old), both residing in Hamlet 2, Trinh Phu Commune, Ke Sach District, Soc Trang Province.

Suspect Le Van Ri

According to initial information, at around 11pm on January 5, while the whole family was sleeping, a man rushed in and stabbed Mr. Nam, Mrs. Phuong and Mrs. Phuong's husband, Mr. Nguyen Van Doi (44 years old). However, Mr. Doi escaped, so his wife and mother-in-law were brutally murdered with many stab wounds on their bodies.

According to Mr. Nam's relatives, due to family conflicts, Ms. Vo Thi B. (47 years old, Mr. Nam's daughter) left home for many days. Suspect Ri (who has a wife and children in Ho Chi Minh City but has been living with Ms. B. as husband and wife for many years) went to Mr. Nam's house to look for Ms. B. Unable to find his "wife", suspect Ri started a fight.

Late on January 5, suspect Ri, masked, broke into Mr. Nam's house and committed the above murder. After committing the crime, suspect Ri fled to Ho Chi Minh City.
