Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 fulfilled her wish when she was welcomed back to her village by the familiar means of transport from her childhood.

On the afternoon of January 22, upon arriving in Dak Lak, Miss H'Hen Nie immediately visited and worked with the provincial leaders as well as the leaders of Cu M'Gar district - where she was born and raised. After that, she headed to Cu Sue commune, where her whole family lives.

After 16 days of being crowned Miss Universe Vietnam, H'Hen Nie has just returned home to visit her hometown. These past few days, she has been very busy with press interviews and events.

H'Hen Nie had many emotions during the journey back to the village. Sometimes she smiled brightly, sometimes she was silent with emotion.

People lined the streets waiting for her. Local reporters stood on tractors to capture the first images of Hen when she returned to the village as a beauty queen.

At first, Hen traveled by luxury white car.

She held a sign in Ede language: "Thank you everyone. Hen did it."

Then, when she arrived at the village, she switched to a tractor - the vehicle the Ede people use to go to work and transport agricultural products every day.

Hen's parents also went to the village to pick up their daughter. She is the third child in a family of six siblings.

Halfway there, the tractor ran out of oil. Hen was startled and dropped the crown, but she quickly caught it.

While everyone was busy pumping oil, the beauty queen joked and waved to passersby.

The car had to stop for a while causing traffic jam on the road to the village.

H'Hen Nie's face radiated happiness.
