H'Hen Niê and her parents traveled back to their village in a farm vehicle.
Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 fulfilled her wish to be welcomed back to her village using a familiar mode of transportation from her childhood.
On the afternoon of January 22nd, upon arriving in Dak Lak, Miss H'Hen Niê immediately visited and worked with provincial leaders as well as leaders of Cu M'Gar district - where she was born and raised. Afterwards, she traveled to Cu Sue commune, where her entire family lives. |
Sixteen days after being crowned Miss Universe Vietnam, H'Hen Niê finally got to visit her hometown. She has been very busy with press interviews and events in recent days. |
H'Hen Niê was overwhelmed with emotions throughout her journey back to her village. At times she smiled radiantly, and at other times she fell silent, overcome with emotion. |
People lined the streets to welcome her. Local journalists stood on farm vehicles to capture the first images of Hen as she returned to her village as Miss Vietnam. |
Initially, Hen traveled in a luxurious white car. |
She held a sign with the words written in the Ede language: "Thank you all. Hen did it." |
Later, upon arriving at the village, she switched to traveling by tractor – a vehicle the Ede people use for work and transporting agricultural products daily. |
Hen's parents also came to the village to welcome their daughter. She is the third child in a family of six siblings. |
Midway through the journey, the farm vehicle ran out of fuel. Hen was startled and dropped her crown, but she quickly caught it. |
While everyone was busy pumping oil, the beauty queen joked around and waved to passersby. |
The vehicles had to stop for a while, causing a traffic jam on the road leading to the village. |
H'Hen Niê's face radiated happiness. |
