The Vietnamese automotive market currently offers a wide selection of family MPVs to meet the needs of spring travel across all segments, from mainstream to premium.

In Vietnam, 7-seater vehicles are often preferred due to their versatility, being able to transport many passengers within a relatively small body, and being flexible enough for use in various traffic conditions. This is also why they are particularly suitable for trips, especially with the Lunar New Year approaching.

Both are 7-seater vehicles, but while SUVs prioritize performance, MPVs are optimized for passenger comfort and convenience. Below are some of the best MPVs to buy in Vietnam right now.

Practical: Suzuki Ertiga

Priced at just 639 million VND, this imported model from Indonesia is currently the cheapest MPV in Vietnam, while also boasting the most compact dimensions. Measuring 4,265 mm long, 1,695 mm wide, and 1,685 mm high, it offers convenient maneuverability in narrow city streets while maintaining ample space for smaller families. The 7-seat configuration is a 5+2 arrangement, with the second row opening with a single touch for easy entry and exit.

The Ertiga is equipped with a smart key, Start/Stop button, entertainment system with CD player, USB/MP3 connectivity, and dual-zone air conditioning with separate vents for the rear seats. The 1.4L gasoline engine produces 91 horsepower and 130 Nm of maximum torque, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Safety features include ABS brakes, EBD electronic brake force distribution, rear parking sensors, and two airbags.

Popular: Toyota Innova

With four versions priced from 743 to 945 million VND, this familiar Toyota model offers a fairly spacious interior, even the third row is relatively comfortable for adults. The car has overall dimensions of 4,735 x 1,830 x 1,795 mm (length x width x height), a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, ground clearance of 178 mm, and a turning radius of 5.4 m.

All Innova models are assembled domestically and share the same 2.0L gasoline engine, producing 137 horsepower and 183 Nm of maximum torque. The E version has a manual transmission, while the G, Venturer, and V versions have automatic transmissions. Only the V version has a rearview camera and a business-class second-row seating arrangement with two separate seats; the other versions have single-seat seats. The Venturer and V versions have the full complement of 7 airbags, while the E and G versions have 3 airbags.

Worth the money: Volkswagen Sharan

This imported German-branded model stands out with its focus on performance and safety for the whole family. Equipped with a 2.0L TSI turbocharged gasoline engine producing 220 horsepower at 4,500-6,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 350 Nm, coupled with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Sharan can reach a top speed of 226 km/h. Safety features such as Auto Hold, blind spot monitoring, tire pressure monitoring, collision warning, anti-lock braking system (ABS), parking assist, electronic stability control, and cruise control speak to the car's superior quality.

The Sharan measures 4,854 mm in length, 1,904 mm in width, 1,720 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm and a ground clearance of 152 mm. It features xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, and power-operated double sliding doors. Inside, the interior is more spacious than the Innova, offering 7 seats, a touchscreen infotainment system, 3-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a large luggage compartment with a capacity of 300 liters, increasing to 2,297 liters when the two rear rows of seats are folded down. The car is priced at 1.85 billion VND.

Unique: Mercedes-Benz V-Class

As an MPV option for financially affluent customers, the V-Class comes in two versions: the V220d (163 hp diesel engine, 380 Nm torque) and the V250 (211 hp gasoline engine, 350 Nm torque), both with a 7-speed 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission, starting at 2.569 billion VND. The vehicle measures 5,140 mm in length, 1,928 mm in width, 1,880 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,200 mm. With a 70-liter fuel tank, the V-Class can travel 800 km on a single tank of fuel.

Inside the passenger compartment are leather seats, wood trim, independently positioned rear seats facing each other, a large screen in the center of the dashboard, LED interior lighting, independently opening/closing rear windows, and an electrically operated Easy-Pack tailgate. Assisted technologies include four driving modes, Agility Control suspension, Crosswind Assist, and Active Parking Assist, with 10 airbags strategically placed around the vehicle. Buyers can personalize the vehicle with 20 optional features.
