Testing dozens of foreign players, SLNA chooses HAGL veteran
(Baonghean.vn) - Preparing for the new 2018 season, the Nghe An team welcomed dozens of foreign players to come here for a trial. However, there was no new factor of higher quality than striker Osmar Moreira, a former player of HAGL.

After parting ways with Danko Kovacevic, SLNA’s coaching staff is actively looking for another foreign player to pair with Michael Olaha in attack. Despite competing in three fronts: V.League, National Cup and AFC Cup, the Nghe An team has only chosen one more foreign player.
And most likely it will be Osmar Moreira, the Brazilian player who played for Hoang Anh Gia Lai in the 2016 season. That was the season when this striker broke his leg in the match against Long An and had to say goodbye to V.League after only playing 7 matches, scoring 5 goals.
Before coming to V.League, Osmar Moreira played 10 matches and scored 1 goal for Mito Hollyhock - the team that Cong Phuong played for on loan in the 2014 season.

It is worth mentioning that a serious injury in V.League 2017 has kept this player away from the field for the past year. However, when he came to SLNA for a trial, Osmar Moreira had a pretty good performance and showed that he fits well with the Nghe An team's playing style.
Currently, SLNA continues to try out other foreign players before finalizing the list of registered players for the new season. In the first match (round 2) against S. Khanh Hoa BVN at Vinh Stadium on March 18, the Nghe An team will play with only 2 foreign players.
